Branda’s Story
Branda, mother of an 11-year old son and caretaker to her elderly uncle, is so excited to celebrate the holidays in her own Habitat home.
Before partnering with Habitat, Branda struggled to find stability for her family. “I have been moving every two years of the past six due to my landlords selling their houses,” explains Branda. She worried about rental increases or her landlord selling the place she and her family rent.
“I’m a first time homeowner and first generation homeowner,” confirms Branda. “My son will have the opportunity to experience a strong community. He’s going into the sixth grade next year, and he will be able to have the same friends through middle and high school.”
Branda recognizes she is building her and her family’s brighter future with the stability of homeownership made possible by Habitat sponsors, volunteers, and individual donors.
“My son and my son’s kids will be blessed. This is really a chance for us to live. Thank you for spreading the wealth and health – just having this opportunity – especially in Colorado, otherwise I would have never had this chance.”
