faith Partners
Habitat Metro Denver would like to recognize Jeffco Interfaith Partners (formerly West Metro Habitat Interfaith Coalition), a diverse group consisting of Protestant, Catholic, Unitarian and Religious Scientist congregations for their long partnership. The group has supported Habitat’s mission since 1998 and has completed 19 metro Denver Habitat homes!
Loaves and Fishes were proud to partner with Hareb & Djamila’s family to construct their Habitat home. This is their story.
“Homeownership for our family was the first step to success in the United States, and it has opened doors for other steps.”
When Hareb and Djamila moved to Denver, they worked hard to make ends meet. Hareb worked more than 40 hours per week at a local food production company, and Djamila was a para-educator in Cherry Creek Schools.
Hareb and Djamila lived with their daughter in an overpriced, small one-bedroom apartment until they partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and The Carpenter’s Helpers to purchase and build a three-bedroom house in the Swansea Homes community. Now they are thrilled to be in their new home with all the extra space it has provided.
“My little Sophia was just eleven months old when we moved into our new home, but even she felt a lot of space to walk and play,” shares Hareb.
As a Habitat partner family, Hareb and Djamilla each contributed “sweat equity” hours to help build their future home, participated in homeowner education classes, and purchased their home with an affordable mortgage.
They still remember the day they closed on their forever home and received their keys.
“When we moved into our new Habitat house, it brought stability and lots of space. We were finally at home.”

Consider making a donation to help us reach our goal of building homes. Each house is built with donated funds from congregations, individuals, and companies. Every little bit helps. Please take a moment to pray and consider how your gift can help Habitat change lives of families in need. Each donation is a true blessing in the eyes of the family who gets one step closer to their dream of homeownership and a better future for their children. All donations go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and help the Jeffco Interfaith Partners reach their sponsorship goal. Be sure to add “Jeffco Interfaith Partners” in the comment section so your donation is applied correctly.
This diverse interfaith group is made up of 10 congregations in the Denver Metro area.
