Meet Bill Loftis, ReStore Metals Recycling Team Captain

“After retiring for the umpteenth time and getting a knee replacement, I decided that volunteering at the ReStores was a better fit for me. I came in and met with the metals team and the rest, as they say, is history.”

Bill Loftis is a long-time volunteer at the Denver ReStore and a key member of the metals recycling team. It was 4 years ago that he became a Metals Recycling Team Captain and he currently volunteers 3-4 times a week.

Bill especially likes working alongside all the volunteers that help out at the ReStores. “I love the social community of volunteers at our ReStores. We have lunch and coffee together and have become friends. I’ve never met a ‘bad egg’ in the bunch.”

We’re grateful for Bill giving his time to the metals recycling program, which provides a source of revenue to the ReStores and helps support Habitat’s homeownership programs. Bill actively supports affordable housing in the community through Habitat and several other nonprofits, including Family Promise, the Women’s Homelessness Initiative, and the MS Society.
