Volunteers Rock!

National Volunteer Week starts April 23, though really at Habitat, every week is volunteer week. We could not accomplish the work that we do without the many dedicated and generous volunteers in our great community.

Studies show that volunteers also benefit from giving their time, but we decided to ask for ourselves:

“Volunteering with Habitat is a chance for me to give back to the community and learn construction.
Why do I volunteer with Habitat? Kiersten, Thomas, Steven, and Burke – The staff and people!”
– Nancy, Regular Construction and Office Volunteer

“I’ve been volunteering for 3 years and it’s the highlight of my week. I feel very appreciated – not that you have to have that but it’s nice.
It’s wonderful to know you’re helping others have a roof over their head and changing their lives.
The nice thing about volunteering is that I can choose what I want to do and I feel good helping someone else. It’s my time in life to give back. It’s a lot more fun to get up in the morning when you choose what you’re doing.”
– Pat, Regular Office Volunteer

“The school shuts down for a service day every year. We want students to realize that there is much we all can do to help and support people who need it.”
– John, Bishop Machebeuf Volunteer Group

“This is my second day on site. I had three weeks of free time and decided to give some of those days to Habitat. It makes me feel like I’m doing something productive and good with my time.”
– Boateng, Daily Construction Volunteer

“We get to build inside and make sure the construction sites have what they need.”
– Brian, Warehouse Manager

THANK YOU to all of the amazing volunteers that work on our construction sites, warehouse, ReStore, and office.
