Staff Spotlight: Meet Mario!

Mario is a Colorado native from Boulder and is celebrating his 8th anniversary here at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. As the ReStore Logistics Field Supervisor, Mario oversees material donation pickups and route changes, leading his team to complete daily and quarterly goals, and training new drivers.
“In 2011, Habitat for Humanity took a chance on me. I have been allowed the time to develop as an employee, a manager, and a person while working at Habitat.” Mario continues, “They gave me a job, and I gave them my all. Proud to say that I still do to this day.”
“My favorite part about my job is that I feel like my team cares about what I think.” Mario continues, “I feel very accomplished in my position and department. We have implemented a lot of things since 2011 that have made the logistics department run smoother.”

- What Does Habitat for Humanity Mean to you? A lot… I have been allowed the time to develop as an employee, a manager, and a person while working at Habitat. I have had 2 children while being employed here, I have lost 5 family members while working here. I have not been back to my home in South Carolina where my family lives since 2006. Habitat became everything I guess, it became my home…
