ReStore Volunteers are Back and Loving It

Many of our Habitat ReStore Core Volunteers are back, volunteering in our ReStores to make a difference in the lives of local hardworking families who partner with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. We took a minute to ask some of our ReStore Core Volunteers how they felt about returning.

Leslie and Annie, merchandise assistants at the Denver ReStore, continue to use their magic touch in the furniture and décor department. Watching the displayed items “fly out the door” is one of the things that keeps these creative volunteers coming back. Annie and Leslie work on Mondays, when the ReStores are closed, which limits their contact with staff and volunteers.

Jim has been with the Wheat Ridge ReStore for over 10 years, helping with metals recycling and serving as our “Mr. Fixit” by repairing furniture and other items. “This is part of my fun. I am happy to be back in Wheat Ridge, working with the staff and supporting Habitat Denver,” Jim said. “The stores are doing a good job keeping us all safe.”

On returning to the ReStore, Cheri, our Wednesday volunteer said: “I came back because I needed to feel I was doing something worthwhile. I read a lot about what Habitat Denver was doing to keep volunteers safe. I decided to come in and felt safe. I will continue to come back.”
