Meet ReStore Summer Intern & Volunteer Colleen Johnson

Every summer, high school and college students around metro Denver sign up to make a difference and volunteer in their community. For Colleen Johnson, now a student at Louisiana Tech University, spending a summer volunteering at the ReStore was a great way to gain experience and make friends.

“The best thing about my volunteer experience at Habitat was the friendships I made,” she says. “The staff, the Habitat partner families and other volunteers were so welcoming, friendly and genuine.”

“I volunteered at the Habitat ReStore during high school last summer because I saw it as an opportunity to help out in my local community, as well as a new learning experience.”

The Habitat Denver Summer Internship Program is now accepting applicants for the summer. Participants will receive a Habitat t-shirt and an official letter of recognition to use for college applications or for their school club or graduation hours.
