Meet Partner Family Abdou and Hanaa

Abdou and Hanaa are the proud parents of a 2-year old son and 1-year old twins. Abdou works at Southwest Airlines, where his hard work is recognized with regular increases in his wages; and Hanaa takes care of their young children.

Abdou and Hanaa currently live in a small apartment that is inadequate for their young family. Insufficiently heated in the winter and very expensive, this apartment does not have enough rooms for a family of five.  As the weather warms and the snow melts, it leaks inside the apartment and contributes to mold growth. Outside of the apartment, Abdou and Hanaa often see police and do not allow their small children to play outside.

When Abdou and Hanaa visited the site of their new house, they teared up because it is so close to school, transportation, and downtown. “The school right across the street, that takes so much stress off of our family,” remarks Abdou. They went on and on about how their children will love playing in the yard. They are proud to give their children a safe and stable place to grow up.

Abdou and Hanaa’s commitment to work and family exemplifies their partnership with Habitat – they look forward to working in partnership to provide their children with a safe and affordable place to call home.

These future homeowners have a word of thanks for all of the volunteers and donors who made this possible:

“Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for everything you have done not just for us, but for so many families in our community. Our children’s lives will change for the best because of you”.
