Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s are Partnering Up for ‘Hammers for Habitat’

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and Lowe’s are partnering up with community volunteers and Habitat partner families to kick off “Hammers for Habitat” on Friday, March 21.  Our affiliate and Lowe’s Heroes employee volunteers will team up with community volunteers and Habitat partner families Friday to raise the walls of a new Habitat home. By the end of the day, volunteers will have completed a fully framed home at the Lowe’s Arvada location.

This event will be of 10 Habitat home builds taking place across the country to celebrate Lowe’s partnership and to introduce “Hammers for Habitat”, a nationwide volunteer drive to mobilize 100,000 new Habitat volunteers this year.  Other cities hosting these home build events include Atlanta; Baton Rouge, La.; Charlotte, N.C.; Houston; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; New York; Seattle and St. Louis.

The “Hammers for Habitat” event will host activities for the entire family, including the Lowe’s Build and Grow kids clinics and fun painting projects to create housewarming gifts for Habitat Metro Denver partner families.  Individuals interested in volunteering for future Habitat builds can sign up at the event or visit Habitat.org/Lowes to learn more.

Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity International have teamed up for more than a decade to build homes, communities and hope. Lowe’s recently renewed its commitment to Habitat with a five-year, $23.5 million donation that will bring Lowe’s total contributions to more than $63 million since 2003.
