Project History

In late 2018 and early 2019, Habitat crews began developing an empty lot the size of one city block at 43rd Avenue and Columbine Street. The project placed 16 duplexes—or 32 total homes—on the vacant property, with an alleyway separating homes on Columbine and Elizabeth streets, from 43rd to 44th avenues. The Habitat team also put in a stormwater system on Columbine Street from 43rd to 44th avenues to accomodate the homes. Residents began moving into the homes in 2020. Major construction was completed in May 2021.

Swansea Families

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of the U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
