This project is part of the Clara Brown Commons community, which has a collective vision of shared resources, community collaboration, and accessibility to transit, green space, and commerce.
The project is made possible through our partnership with Mile High Ministries, who is developing a 61-unit, affordable rental project at Clara Brown Commons, alongside Habitat’s townhomes.
Clara Brown Commons is located near 37th Avenue and York St., south of I-70, west of Colorado Boulevard, and near parks and businesses in the Cole Neighborhood. The property is named after Colorado pioneer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Clara Brown, who cared for the poor, ran a business, resisted discrimination, and spent her time and fortune to help formerly enslaved people attend college or start new lives in Colorado. Clara Brown Commons is dedicated in her honor, with the hope of inspiring the community to follow her legacy of compassion, generosity and neighborly love.
